At Polar Tree and Engine Care, we provide comprehensive, year-round tree care designed to support the health, safety, and beauty of your property. As a full-service tree care company serving Southcentral Alaska, we handle everything from routine maintenance to technical removals and storm response. Whether you’re looking to preserve a mature tree, clean up wind damage, or safely remove hazardous trees, our team delivers expert, reliable service backed by training, safety standards, and a commitment to sustainable tree care.

Fair, Competitive, and Customized Pricing

Tree work is never one-size-fits-all. Just like people, every tree and every situation is unique—different sizes, conditions, locations, and hazards. Because of this, we don’t offer flat pricing for tree services. Instead, we keep our pricing competitive for our region and provide in-person assessments to ensure you receive an accurate, honest quote based on your specific needs.

When you schedule a visit, we assess your trees and provide your quote the same day, so you know exactly what to expect with no delays or surprises.

Tree Removal

Safe, controlled removal of hazardous, storm-damaged, dead, or structurally compromised trees. We specialize in technical removals, including those in tight spaces or areas with limited access, using industry-approved methods to protect your home and landscape.

Tree Pruning and Trimming

Professional pruning to improve tree structure, enhance growth, remove dead or diseased limbs, and maintain clearance around homes, driveways, and utility areas. We follow ANSI A300 standards to ensure proper and effective cuts.

Storm Damage & Emergency Response

Rapid response for storm-damaged or fallen trees, including hazardous limb removal, debris clearing, and restoring safety to your property after high winds or extreme weather events.

Chipping (Fixed-Rate Service)

Chipping is one of the few tree-related services with predictable, metered pricing.
Our rates are as follows:

$300 for the first hour
$150 for each additional hour

Because this service is easy to quantify based on volume and time, we offer both floating and fixed-price quotes. Whether you prefer a firm cost upfront or a metered, pay-as-we-work approach, we can accommodate your needs. Chipping efficiently converts branches and debris into wood chips, which can be hauled off or left onsite depending on your preference.

Additional Services

Stump Grinding

We provide efficient stump grinding to remove the remaining stump after tree removal and prepare the area for replanting, landscaping, or safe use.

Stump Grinding Pricing:

$300 for the first stump
$7 per inch for each additional stump (measured at base diameter)

This flexible pricing makes it easy to bundle multiple stumps into one visit.

Tree Planting

We offer tree planting services that include proper planting technique, and guidance tailored to Alaska’s challenging climate.

Tree planting does not have fixed pricing, as cost depends on:

Tree species and nursery pricing
Size and maturity of the tree
Site accessibility
Soil preparation needs
Quantity of trees being installed

Because each situation is unique, we provide on-site recommendations and quotes during our assessment.
